UNIQUE WINE TASTING AND GOURMET DINNER

On Tuesday 4 May, the Italian restaurant IL DONA will offer great wine on the menu when Stefan Jensen from Winewise presents six Italian top wines to accompany Fabio Donadoni's eight course gourmet dinner. Since opening in September 2009, Il Dona focused on building a wine list made of natural wines, as they are an obvious extension of Fabio Donadoni's (former chef at Era Ora) new kitchen. Il Dona is inspired by Italian dishes and works with a rustic and green cuisine, which includes both Nordic raw materials and healthy products. Together with Il Dona's sommelier, Katrine Giorgio, Stefan Jensen will present some of the most ambitious natural wine producers and once and for all remove all prejudices that natural wines are not as good as conventionally grown wines. Guests will be able to taste natural wines from Paolo Bea Montefalco in Umbria. It is one of the founders of Vini Veri, which is an association where being organic, having natural
fermentation without temperature control and no filtering or artificial concentration are among the requirements for admission. For this special occasion, Fabio Donadoni has created an eight-course gourmet dinner and guests are sure to enjoy a unique culinary experience. You can find the detailed program at
ildona.dk

AN EXPERIENCE BY THE WATER

Restaurant SØREN K does not only reside in an architectural pearl but also has one of the city's most attractive locations. søren k is named after the world-famous Danish philosopher and writer Søren Kierkegaard, an obvious choice considering the restaurant's location on the ground floor of the Royal Library which of course holds the entire body of work of Kierkegaard, along with a collection of books that go on for miles. This is a building with a unique atmosphere. In September 2000, the new extension of the Royal Library, called the Black Diamond, opened. Apart from the several reading rooms, the Black Diamond also contains interesting exhibition rooms, a concert hall, a bookshop, a café and of course restaurant søren k. At søren k, you can enjoy good food and wine as part of a visit to the exhibitions, a tour of the city, a concert or lecture or perhaps as the perfect beginning to an evening at the Opera or Royal Theatre. Not only does the Black Diamond offer unique experiences in-house, but it is also worth a visit due to its beautiful architecture. Last but not least, the Black Diamond and restaurant søren k are located on the waterfront with a superb view of Copenhagen Harbour. Take advantage of a unique opportunity to explore and experience Copenhagen. Hop on one of DFDS's boats that tour the canals and get dropped off at the Diamond to enjoy a lunch on the waterfront. By late May, the terrace will be open and you will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the tranquillity found here in the heart of Copenhagen while being served excellent Scandinavian food by their professional and friendly staff.

FIND YOUR TREASURE
SPOUSECARE is organising a Copenhagen Treasure Hunt on Sunday 2 May, 2010 from 11am to 2pm. Join them in the hunting of sights and atmospheres in areas of central Copenhagen that you probably did not know
existed.  Everybody is welcome and this event is for both foreigners and Danes, adults and children, so this is also an opportunity to either spend time with the family and/or to make new friends. You can form your own group or choose to be matched with the groups that will be created. Anyone can participate: a single person, couples, families or groups of friends. You will be walking (or taking the metro or the boat, if you prefer) and seeing Copenhagen from different angles. You will be responsible for finding your own way around town and there will be ample opportunity to find a little spot to either enjoy your own packed lunch or to have a bite to
eat at a local café. One factor that cannot be influenced is the ever changing weather in Denmark, but hoping that the weather will cooperate and that there will be a bit of sunshine. Some Danes claim that there is no such thing as unsuitable weather, only unsuitable clothing. This is an invitation to dress according to the weather.

The Meeting place is Rosenborg Slot (Rosenborg Castle), Øster Voldgade 4A (very close to Nørreport Station)  Please feel free to send this invitation to everybody in your network. The more the merrier! The fee is 100 kr. per adult and 25 kr. per child (6 to 15). The price is 200 kr for a family of four (2 adults, 2 children). Please register before April 26 by sending an email to: info@spousecare.dk.
