Stay healthy throughout your pregnancy. Yoga helps prepare your body and mind for giving birth, and makes you more comfortable throughout your pregnancy.

Yoga increases your body awareness, and improves strength, balance and concentration. Breathing and relaxation techniques are an important part of the practice.

For actual birthing training and theory about giving birth, do pre-natal classes as well.

The original Argentine tango is a social dance for couples. The man and the woman each have their well-defined roles: the man is leading and the woman is following, thus making up a harmonious
relationship in which they both enjoy each other's contribution to creating "a three minute love affair" - which a tango song is also called. Argentine tango is dancing to wonderful music, enjoying the process together and communicating in a respectful way - simply just feeling the magic of the moment. Join up - preferably as a couple.

Class 11980
Start: Thursday 02.09.10, 20:30-22:00, Sankt Peders Stræde 43 B, , 1453 København K.

After birth, the oblique muscles of the abdomen are often very weak as these are the muscles largely used in those final hours of labour. Weak oblique muscles often cause the spine to arch which in turn can cause backache for the postnatal mother. Weakness in the abdominal area as well as the pelvic floor and spine encourages poor posture, aches and pains and a flabby tummy!

A postnatal Pilates workout will target and strengthen specific core muscle groups. This strengthens the pelvic floor and the abdominals, returns joint mobility and flexibility to the spine, strengthens the upper middle and lower back and improves posture. After a Pilates class you should feel slimmer, taller, relaxed, and better about yourself as through these exercises any tension and anxiety should decrease.

For the postnatal mother, the Pilates Method of body conditioning changes bodies. It makes them fitter and stronger. It slims muscles and makes them more compact. It turns the abdomen and lower back and hips into a firm central support for a supple and graceful body.

Determined to get back into that bikini, but after giving birth, your tummy, nagging knee, foot, and/ or lower back injury is keeping you away from the gym or the running track? Well, don't fret!

Because buoyancy offsets the downward pull of gravity, the primary force acting on the body in chest-deep water is the water's horizontal resistance. During aqua fitness, the horizontal resistance does two things: it decreases the stress on your joints and increases the workload on your muscles.

So put your swimsuit back on and take your workout into the pool.

Class 11950
Start: Wednesday 25.08.10, 09:30-10:15, Tuborgvej 11, 2900 Hellerup.
Harmonizing exercises in water for pregnancy, birth and beyond. Supported by the water, joints and muscles can move freely, protected from the jarring and knocking that can happen in land-based exercise. Aqua Yoga combines slow stretching with the use of breathing and relaxation, as the water provides resistance for the muscles to work against.

Class 11960
Start: Wednesday 25.08.10, 10:15-11:00, Tuborgvej 11, 2900 Hellerup.
Qigong is a traditional Chinese health art that combines breathing, movement and meditation. Tai Chi Qigong is especially good for the back, neck, shoulders and hips. Many of the movements derive from Yang Taijiquan (Tai Chi). The course is therefore a perfect introduction to both Qigong and Tai Chi.

We are all born with a free voice, and a very good connection between the voice, the body and the inner life. Unfortunately most of us loose that connection over the years. Rediscovering the spontaneous connection between sound and body will provide a feeling of freedom, joy and increased self esteem.

At this course we will work with the breath, relaxation of the body, physical exercises, voice meditation, expression and so much more. We will sing together and you will also get the opportunity of working individually with a song (masterclass).

Bring a blanket, a song you know well and would like to work with and wear clothes that allows you to breathe and move freely.

Yes, the taxes are high and yes, the weather is crummy a lot of the time, but a main reason why foreigners in Denmark end up leaving this country again is that they find it so difficult to become friendly with the place and its population.

Eva Hollbaum, Journalist, Communications Consultant and seasoned expat on several continents understands the challenges which face foreigners in Denmark. A Dane herself she also understands the soul of the nation.

Follow her on a journey which takes you into the mind of the Danes by way of Parliament, a county office (kommunal Borgerservice), a kindergarten, a traditional Danish meal and become so much better equipped to really enjoy what Denmark and its citizens can offer.

Come and dance to gentle and energizing oriental rhythms and melodies, in the company of other pregnant women.

"The Dance of Birth" can be enjoyed at all stages in pregnancy. It is the perfect way to nurture yourself and your baby and to feel comfortable with your changing pregnant body. Gentle enough to suit first time dancers. This oriental inspired dance mirrors how a woman's body stretches to allow the baby to grow, and at the same time strengthens the muscles to be active during birth. Other benefits include relaxation, improved posture and balance, focus, endurance, flexibility and pain relief.

Loose and comfortable clothing is suitable. The instructor will lend you scarves to wear around hips or belly if you so wish.
