The David Collection in the heart of Copenhagen comprises three permanent collections. It is the home of one of the world’s most renowned collections of Islamic Art displaying art from the 7th to 19th century, from Spain in the west to India in the east. The unique collection of European 18th century art is placed in elegant period rooms in the very home of the founder C. L. David (1878-1960). The collection of Danish Early Modern Art includes work by Theodor Philipsen, Jens Ferdinand Willumsen, L. A. Ring, and Peter Hansen as well as 14 paintings by Vilhelm Hammershøi.
